Things to do
Clifford is only 10 minutes from Wetherby Racecourse where many events including fairs, live music, and of course Horse racing take place each year! If you enjoy the odd putting session, Linton's stunning 18-hole golf course is only a short drive and has beautiful views as well as a fantastic Golf Club. Also in Wetherby is a leisure centre where you can swim, take fitness classes or have a kick around the outdoor football grounds.
Residents of Clifford also benefit from discounted tickets to the famous Leeds Festival each year so if you enjoy live music and a buzzing atmosphere, register early to enjoy the August bank holiday festival.
Eating and drinking
Clifford itself has a superb Fish & Chips shop if you fancy grabbing something quick. There is also the Albion Pub in Clifford which is a lovely traditional pub serving food, and drinks and occasionally has live music as well as a lovely beer garden. In nearby Boston Spa, local favourites include Tom Foolery, a trendy bar by night and brunch spot by day serving a variety of food and drinks including, Neapolitan style pizza, burgers, craft beer & delicious cocktails! Recently refurbished to a superb standard is the Crown Hotel in Boston Spa, with a fantastic beer garden, themed evenings, and a variety of food and drinks on offer it has quickly become the local hot spot!
Shopping
Although Clifford doesn't have a local shop, it is very close to Boston High street where a wide range of small grocery stores can be found and the nearest big supermarket being only a 7 minute drive in Wetherby. For a pint of milk Bramham post office is also open most days and is only a short walk from Clifford.
Transport
History
In the Middle Ages Clifford was a subordinate settlement to Bramham, and had no parish church or manor house. A Wesleyan chapel was built some time before 1838, and the three churches soon after. The Anglican St Luke's Church was built in 1840.
