Activities

There is lots to do within Moortown and the surrounding areas. Moortown is just a 4.5 mile drive from Leeds City Centre. Although there is no train station in Moortown, there are plenty of bus routes offering links to Ripon, Harrogate, Leeds and neighbouring suburbs. Moortown is only a has excellent links to the Ring Road making for efficient travel for commuters.

History

By the 1900’s the area had mostly become farmlands and quarry sites. Eventually small developments started to pop up and larger houses were built for the wealthy moving out of the city centre.

Moortown is within close proximity to Chapel Allerton and Alwoodley and as a result, there is a wide range of schools in the area. Within a 3 mile radius of Moortown, there are around 20 primary schools to choose from, with 10 of those rated as Outstanding in the most recent Ofsted reports.
