Things To Do
Close to Alwoodley is Eccup Reservoir which makes for scenic walks and bike rides. The keep your eyes peeled for the Red Kites that frequent the area! Alwoodley Village Green is a great place to take the kids, with plenty of playing grounds and climbing frames! While Alwoodley doesn’t have its own train station, the area is well connected with buses every 10 minutes.
History
Private suburban housing development started in during the interwar years, with a 1929 brochure for Alwoodley Park Estate promising natural local attractions and modern homes in a healthy setting away from the city centre.
