Camden is located on the northern slopes of the city, with magical views over the rooftops towards Prior Park and the Bath Skyline and Beechen Cliff in the south, and Bathford, Bathampton and Batheaston in the east.
There are a number of individual terraces and the very grand Camden Crescent, with houses of three stories, attics and basements, designed by John Eveleigh, and built in 1787/8 at the western end of Camden Road.
At the eastern end of Camden Road there is the convivial Claremont pub, a convenience store and off licence and a chemist. Fairfield Park Health Centre is also handily located on Camden Road.
Local primary schools include St Andrew’s and St Stephen’s, and secondary schools include Kingswood School and the Royal High School. All are within easy walking distance of Camden Road. St Saviour’s primary school and St Mark’s secondary schools are a little further afield in Larkhall, but still easily accessible from Camden.
This area is very friendly and with a village feel, while just a pleasant walk down the hill and you are in the centre of Bath with the theatre and so much to offer.
